Fitted Wardrobes

clip_image004_thumb.jpgHello everyone,

wardrobe pics 7
What a lovely time we’ve been having – rather on and off – with the weather.

We have been working on some luxury interiors that I thought I would share with you; as you will know if you are a regular website visitor – or if you follow me on Twitter – that we specialise in complete design and build.

We also design, craft and install top-end fitted furniture and this one is just one of these examples.

This particular work is for a loft conversion in Shropshire and it comprises a complete fitted wardrobe solution and a window seat to relax and unwind in.

Here are the details:

wardrobe pics 31. Hand-crafted in solid oak
2. “Mortise and tenon” framed doors
3. Stainless steel hinges
4. A welfare unit features in the central cabinet
5. The finish will be osmo natural oil
6. The central unit will also feature a full height mirrored door for ease of dressing and preparation

If you have an awkward space – or actually, any space – that could do with the Louka Fine Finish treatment, contact me on 07886880963.

In the meantime, feel free to share and/or recommend our work if value time-honoured craftsmanship that has all but vanished in today’s flat-pack world.

Have a super week everyone, let’s hope the rain stays away!

Barn Conversion Update

clip_image004_thumb.jpgWell what a week! We have had a virtual heat wave and then constant downpours; it seems like the UK weather doesn’t know whether it’s coming or going!

To cheer myself up and try and rid myself of this dreary weather I am getting a new mountain bike – details to be revealed at a later date….

Back to business, then. Specifically, an update on the barn conversion that we have been working on and writing about.

The drawings that we bought you in our previous barn blog are now at the structural engineers and calculations are also being done. A trial hole is being dug so that we can prepare designs for the foundation slab, too.

We handle all the design and build for our clients and – where necessary – we employ external, professional (and insured!) consultants, like engineers for example.

At this exciting point in the project, I am really looking forward to getting the barn build underway and incorporating some really cool, contemporary features to make the building totally unique.

After all, that’s what we do best.

I will bring you more details when I have them – in the meantime, have a great week and try to make the most of the great British summertime weather!

Transforming Interior Space

Sean Stack - Louka Fine Finishblog pic 1

We are currently working on a project in a beautiful Shropshire Country House.

The brief was for us to transform two existing rooms and also to add in a luxury en-suite bathroom. We are working on two 2 exclusive suites in that will also have potential rental opportunities.

The features that we are including as part of this project are:blog pic 2

▪ New dormer (to create en-suite)
▪ Bespoke oak furniture and fittings
▪ Sliding glass hidden doors
▪ Stunning views onto open countryside

I don’t know about you, but I think definite rental potential is more likely – there is nothing better than waking up to views of the rolling Shropshire hills and open fields.

Especially, of course, when it is Sunny like it has been this week – it has been a pleasure to work on this job in such a lovely part of the world.
